Today, I’ll be featuring one of my Fall 2020 brand personal projects: onau fine jewelry.
Personal Projects are some of my favorite ways to share my style and strategy with my dream clients. Being a lover of bold color and whimsical patterns, I can sometimes struggle with the lighter, more feminine brands. I believe in constantly pushing myself creatively and trying things I’m not an expert at. So for me, that looked like a dainty jewelry brand that included packaging design & several other pieces of luxury collateral.
About the Brand
Onau is a feminine and minimalistic jewelry brand aiming to bring effortless and everyday class to people through fine jewelry. Their goal is to create a luxury but reachable brand to bring “everyday luxury” to their consumers.
The Strategy
To walk the thin tight rope of “upscale” and “everyday” I knew I wanted to use colors that timeless but are not too royal or romantic. Soft pinks, creams, and dark neutrals created a palette that was feminine and refined but still easy and calming to interact with.
I pulled a lot of inspiration from fine art textures to create feelings of status and refinement. Having an additional texture to compliment a very minimal logo also brought depth to the brand.
Design Touches
I didn’t want to create overwhelm and confusion by having too many design elements used, and end up cheapening the feel. So the strategy was simply this; simple. I took the less is more approach to a whole new level with this elevated minimalistic brand.
